Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU) Project Researcher Maria Mylova has been named a 2024 Simons Emmy Noether Fellow, it was announced on April 25 by the Perimeter Institute.

The Simons Emmy Noether Fellows Program at Perimeter Institute honors the legacy of Emmy Noether, a mathematician whose work more than a century ago became a fundamental concept in mathematical physics. Partnered with the Simons Foundation, the program supports and encourages early- and mid-career women researchers in physics and related areas.

"I am deeply honored to have been selected as an Emmy Noether Fellow at Perimeter Institute, following in the footsteps of previous brilliant women fellows. This fellowship represents a significant step towards addressing the under-representation of women in physics, and it comes at a pivotal moment in my early career as a researcher. I am thrilled by the prospect of meeting and collaborating with the esteemed members and visiting researchers at Perimeter Institute, and I look forward to immersing myself in its creative and dynamic environment to further advance my research endeavors," said Mylova.

The fellowship will allow Mylova to visit the Perimeter Institute over the next two years, while holding a postdoctoral position at Kavli IPMU, and carry out her research in Perimeter’s collaborative environment.
