Ken'ichi Nomoto was awarded an IAP Medal

Ken'ichi Nomoto was awarded IAP Medal on July 1st, 2010 from Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris, France.

This medal is awarded annually to an astrophysicist who made significant contribution in related fields on the occasion of IAP's annual colloquium.

Following very prominent scientists received the medals since the establishing of the award in 2005.

This year's colloquium was held on the themes of exploding stars such as new stars, supernovae, gamma-ray bursts.

Nomoto's theoretical contribution for the supernovae research won the recognition of the medal committee.
