The development of an English language website to explain University of Tokyo’s employee procedures for international researchers has been recognized at the 2015 University of Tokyo President's Award for Business Transformation. A prize giving was held at the University of Tokyo's Yasuda Auditorium on December 18.

The collaboration between Rieko Tamura and Hisami Kuboshima from the Kavli IPMU’s International section and three members of the University of Tokyo’s International Planning Group, was awarded the Special Prize this year for their contribution in making information more readily available to international researchers.

"I feel happy if the new portal site will be a help to the University of Tokyo's internationalization, by sharing our experience at the Kavli IPMU in supporting international researchers with the entire university," said Ms Tamura.

The website was regarded as a valuable foundation for the university’s global campus model, and is expected to become an example for other departments working on making English language services.

Every year, the University of Tokyo calls on staff to nominate business ideas that have lead to significant developments, and commends the best ideas in an award ceremony.
