JPS Award for Academic Papers on Physics to Shigeki Sugimoto

The 16th JPS Award for Academic Papers on Physics was awarded to Shigeki Sugimoto, an Professor at IPMU.

The Physical Society of Japan (JPS) has established the Award for Academic Papers on Physics in order to recognize and praise the achievement of researchers who have made important contributions towards the progress of physics. Papers, excluding revue articles, published in the JPSJ or Progress of Theoretical Physics along with the latter's supplement issues, within 5 years from the June previous to the award year. A maximum of five awards are given in a year, while there may be a year in which there are no recipients of the award.
