The University of Tokyo Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU, WPI)

Misao Sasaki, Project Professor at The University of Tokyo Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU, WPI), has been named a new fellow of the American Physical Society (APS).
APS is the world’s largest physics organization with 50,000 members. Of those members, less than 0.5% are selected as fellows, recognizing their significant contributions to physics research.
Sasaki is being recognized “for seminal contributions to cosmology and astrophysics, including cosmological perturbation theory and physics of gravitational waves, and for laying the foundation for understanding how quantum perturbations could shape the observed structures in today's universe.”
Regarding the news, Sasaki has made the following comment.
“I am honored and deeply moved. I will use this recognition to motivate me to continue my research, and gain a deeper understanding of our Universe,” he said.
