Discerning the Galactic Dens Where Monster Black Holes Lurk

A program to create a census of supermassive black holes and host galaxies at z ~ 6 found with the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam survey, is due to start when the James Webb Space Telescope is launched, has been picked up by the news section of the Kavli Foundation. The medium-size program involves Kavli IPMU's John Silverman and Xuheng Ding as co-Principal Investigators plus Masafusa Onoue, the Principal Investigator, who will start the joint KIAA-IPMU fellowship at the end of this year.
