2012 PASJ Excellent Paper Award to Masahiro Takada

The Astronomical Society of Japan announced the 2012 PASJ Excellent Paper Award went to Masahiro Takada, project professor at Kavli IPMU.
The PASJ Excellent paper award is given to ingenuous and excellent papers that appeared in the PASJ, Publications of Astronomical Society of Japan, within the past five years and made significant contribution to the field of astronomy.

The 2010 paper, “ LoCuSS: Subaru Weak Lensing Study of 30 Galaxy Clusters", by a team including Takada and Nobuhiro Okabe at Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics Academia Sinica, was selected for the award.  Okabe will join Kavli IPMU in fall 2013. 
The award ceremony took place on March 21 at the ASJ annual meeting held at Saitama University.
